Orphans Foundation Fund has been operating since 2002. We work according to the international development adage think globally, act locally. While our donor base is global, we are a locally run Tanzanian NGO, working directly at the grass roots. We think that works best because we not only speak the language, we know the country's culture. After all, it is our own.

The Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro Project is a land development program 12km from Arusha. We are planning on building a training center for community empowerment for orphans and vulnerable children as well as a hostel. Five years ago the property was purchased with the support of Dr. James Lace, he also has funded these latest developments. Thank you for your support through the years, we couldn’t have come so far and helped so many without you.

Agape, the love of Yeshua for humanity
Agape is such a precious little girl with a smile that just melts your heart. She sure did capture the heart of Katharina when she was here in Tanzania helping with Orphans Foundation Fund. Katharina started helping Agape when she was just six months old and will continue her kind support until she has graduated from University. Agape means the love of Yeshua for humanity, Katharina knows that she is the one that inspired such great love. Basking in this kindness she will grow into a young woman who also shows that same love to others in her community.
A Day for Happiness
The additions to the Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro property are looking great. With each passing day the construction gets closer to completion. Today we watched the brick layer finishing up to where the roof will be built. We also met with the metal workers about the design of the new gate and security bars. One of the youngest helpers on the site was Happiness, she is an exceptionally bright girl who was selected to enter Form 1 (1st year of High school) because her grades were so good! But her father left the family and she needs to support her mother at least until she can raise enough to pay the $250 tuition for her first year of High school. We are looking for a sponsor for Happiness, if you’re touched by her situation and would like to help please contact us.
New Njiro fence complete
The first phase of the construction is done with the completion of the new fence around the Orphans Foundation Fund property in Njiro. The next step, which needs an additional $3,500, is to complete the new Guard house. Here is the drawing for the Guard house to be built on the Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro property. Guard House
From Childhood to Adulthood
Our recent graduates of the Orphans Foundation Fund / CORAID Street Children Project have moved from simply being apprentices to appling their new skills in the workplace. They have realized that learning and hardwork applied to the free market, is like switching on a light to the world of a bright future! Happy Yohana is working as a cook at Charity Hotel, one of Arusha’s finest. And the sparks are flying from Prosper Valerian’s welding stick as he wields his weapon of economic empowerment as a contract welder.
A Special Visit from Dr. Diane O’Rouke

This week we had a special visitor to Orphans Foundation Fund, Dr. Diane O’Rourke. Dr. O’Rouke is a teacher at Victoria University in Wellington New Zealand. She heard of the good work that Orphans Foundation Fund was doing in Tanzania and wanted to see how she too could get involved. We visited Jane’s Orphans Center, the O.F.F./CORDAID Arusha Street Children Project, and the Lengast Village projects that we are running. Dr. O’Rouke contributed to the house rent for Violet (Above on the right) and several other of the graduates of the O.F.F./CORDAID Arusha Street Children Project to help them get well established. She is very pleased with our work and will surely continue to be a great partner.
New Construction on the Njiro Property
We have been busy working on the Njiro property to further the development of the land with a new fence, gate entrance, a guard house and storage building to keep the building materials safe. Dr. Lace generously contributed for the construction, but additional funds are needed to complete this phase of the work. There is more open property right next to ours that the government is interested in donating, this would be great to maximize the potential of the land!
