The Vodacom Foundation generously donated water filters to 25 orphan centers in Arusha. The donation was made at the Voda Shop in Moshi on Feb 27th, 2010. This contribution assures the children of clean safe drinking water, the foundational beginning of great health.

Orphans Foundation Fund has just purchased some land for Bibi Asha, thanks to a generous donation from Jessica Bukrat. Bibi Asha has been helped through our Grandmother Livelihood project, and desperately needed a place so that she’d have a home for the children she cares for. We would like to build her and the children a small home, so if you’d like to help please donate through the link on the right.

The Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro Project is a land development program 12km from Arusha. We are planning on building a training center for community empowerment for orphans and vulnerable children as well as a hostel. Five years ago the property was purchased with the support of Dr. James Lace, he also has funded these latest developments. The graduates of the Orphans Foundation Fund / CORDAID street children project are reaping the benefits of their skills with applied diligent effort in their workplaces. Here are some new photo of them on the job. Thank you to all the businesses which saw the need to help constructively with these young adults and give them steady employment.

The 2nd stage of the Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro project is nearing completion. The entire team from O.F.F. went to see the progress at the work site, the guard house looks great. The masons were just finishing up cementing the securing anchors for the new gate, while several men and women were working on the latrine, landscaping, and cleaning up the site. Orphans Foundation Fund has successfully completed the first year of the O.F.F. / CORDAID Street Children Project. The street children were surveyed, selected, oriented to the program,  giving a new home, educated, trained in vocational skills, and at the end of 2009 they graduated and had hope for the future with their placement in full time work. Agape is such a  precious little girl with a smile that just melts your heart.  She sure did capture the heart of Katharina when she was here in Tanzania helping with Orphans Foundation Fund. Katharina started helping Agape when she was just six months old and will continue her kind support until she has graduated from University. Agape means the love of Yeshua for humanity, Katharina knows that she is the one that  inspired such great love. Basking in this kindness she will grow into a young woman who also shows that same love to others in her community.

The additions to the Orphans Foundation Fund Njiro property are looking great. With each passing day the construction gets closer to completion. Today we watched the brick layer finishing up to where the roof will be built. We also met with the metal workers about the design of the new gate and security bars. One of the youngest helpers on the site was Happiness, she is an exceptionally bright girl who was selected to enter Form 1 (1st year of High school) because her grades were so good! But her father left the family and she needs to support her mother at least until she can raise enough to pay the $250 tuition for her first year of High school. The first phase of the construction is done with the completion of the new fence around the Orphans Foundation Fund property in Njiro.
